So I broke down tonight and decided that I was moving on to bigger and better things. We are moving our blog to: www.kaiandkatie.com

An Update on the Home to Be
I left work a little early today to meet with the guy that was going to inspect our potential new home. All in all it was a rather smooth process and of all the things that could be wrong or things that could appear negative on the report, the only real item that we found was a door that did not close very well. To be honest I was very excited for the news and was glad to hear that the home was in excellent condition. Although I will admit that after spending a little more time in the home then I did the first time that I was there that I realized that the color scheme is just not going to work out for us and we will need to try to paint sooner then later.
Speaking of Painting we stopped Benjamin Moore a few days ago and have started the process of picking out colors that we think will work well. I think that we will try to paint the house ourselves soliciting the help of my Dad and Grandpa to get the job done.

Wedding Stuff and More Wedding Stuff
So the saga continues and we continue to firm up the details of the big day. Yesterday we took Katie's beautiful dress to her aunt's house to take care of some small alterations. We are sure thankful to her for taking the time to do that for us, and know that it saved us a fair amount of money.
We had a great time last weekend registering at some of the local hot spots. We chose to register at Bed Bath and Beyond, Pottery Barn, and Target. We actually had a great time planning and picking out items for out new house. I will have the links to Pottery Barn and Target up some time later.
After learning more about each of the companies and the registration policies and rules we have found that Bed Bath and Beyond is by far the best place to work with. They have the best return and exchange policy and really strife to work with the Bride and Groom to make sure that everything works out well. Target on the other hand can be considered the Nazi of returns/exchanges and makes life very difficult. While we were in Target we ran into a newlywed couple who had received three or four griddles. They were very grateful for the gifts and the sacrifice to those who gave them, however without a gift receipt Target would not allow for a return or even an exchange. So the couple took home the griddles and prepared to help cook at the next scout camp or ward pancake breakfast.
The moral of the story that we learned from our trip to Target was: When buying a gift for others it might be a good idea to include a gift receipt or the receiving end may end up with one to many griddles or toasters.
As we prepare for the wedding we are very grateful to all those who are helping out with the plans and are preparing to celebrate out big day. We would like to thank all those in advanced who will be traveling or sacrificing to share this day with us. We love you all and are grateful to each of you.

And If I die before I wake . . . .
Normally I am a big fan of my room and especially my bed. Although I have been living the so called "college life" for the past few years I have always had managed to make it just about rough'n it. I love my King size bed with the 600 thread count down comforter that keeps my warm in the winter and cool in the summer. (Not sure how it manages that) I also love the plethora of pillows and soft blankets that adorn it. To top it all off I particularly love my 42 inch plasma screen that I knew I must get before I enrolled in the "going to be married budget" With all the accommodating and inviting items of my room I found a less the welcomed visitor when I got home tonight that has left me wishing I was about anywhere but here!

When I walked in tonight from my Uncle Jeff's, where Katie and I are watching my cousins while my aunt and uncle are vacationing in Lake Powell, I screamed like a little girl when I saw the enormous black spider with an large orange hour class shaped underbelly. Now I am usually pretty tough, and don't mind spiders to much. I mean I don't love them by any means and certainly would rather not see or find them in the house, but I typically will smack them with my shoe and be done with it. However tonight when I saw this monster crawling across the wall just above my bed I also saw my young life flash before my eyes and I really lost just about lost it.
So as I sit here in my once comfortable bed jumping at the slightest itch or twitch that I feel, thinking that it might be my last, I hope that I make it to the morning. And if by some chance that the rule holds true where there is one there is probably 10 and this will be my unofficially official last post I do not make it to the morning I will try and take solace in the 18th century evening prayer:
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray Thee, Lord, my soul to keep.
If I should die before I wake,
I pray Thee, Lord, my soul to take.
If I should live to future days,
I pray Thee, Lord, to guide my ways.

Cross your Fingers for the New House
We made on offer on a house in Lehi a few weeks ago and have been in the middle of the never ending process of "closing" Who knew that it was such a pain in the butt? I think that I have signed my name on more "who really knows what this means" documents in the last few weeks then I have my entire life. Nevertheless we are nearing the end, and I think that I can see the light in the end of the tunnel. With the appraisal under our belt and the inspection scheduled for tomorrow we are feeling good about things. Although I might complain about the process we are very grateful that we found something that will work for us and that we are able to get into a home right out of the gate.
If any of you love the mint green in the living room or the sunshine yellow in the kitchen I am very sorry because it will be the first thing to go. Katie has already dragged my to the paint store and has assured me that painting will be a top priority.

Engagement Pictures At Last
As most of you know, and if you don't, where in the world have you been for the last several weeks, that Katie and I are anxiously preparing for the big wedding day on Friday October 19th. Seeing we will only have a short 8 weeks from the time we got engaged to the wedding, it is a never ending topic of conversation and between Katie and I, and both our families. With that being said, about a week ago we took our engagement pictures and have been painstakingly waiting all this week for the studio to edit and publish the pictures for all to see. Finally tonight we received an email from the studio that some of the pictures have been finished and posted. So without further adieu ( I know you are all dying to see) here is the first round of pictures
First Attempts
Alright I guess that it is time that we (really just I) join the world of bloggers. I got this brilliant idea this morning as I was searching the web and ran into an old friend's blog, that it was a great time to start especially with the wedding around the corner. As I got going tonight I knew that I would like to use get my own domain name and find a company to host for me. So I spent a good hour tonight registering a domain name which was not a big hit, it was only $9.95 for the first year. The next step was to find a hosting company. I have worked with BlueHost when I worked for InsideSales.com and figured that they would work. I filled out all the forms and justified the $7.95/month telling myself "that it was a good way to keep in touch with people." When I got to the last page and was about to seal the deal I noticed that I was about to be billed just under $100 bucks for 12 months of hosting. There was no way I could justify it on my new "post engagement budget." If you want to know more about what this includes ask Katie she can tell you all about it. So after all the excitement and anticipation for the new hosted blog I reverted to the less exciting yet economical choice of blogspot.
